Subject: Rain songs and love songs
I picked up my friend Mark Olberg in Sebastopol as the town was about to become an island. There were cops at the Sonoma County line but I had a pick-up truck with good clearance and they let me through. We crossed the bridge and there was a semi-truck on its side. The show was amazing and so was the crowd. There was a "weathering the storm" togetherness. I lost Mark right off but he showed up at the truck just as I did. The ride home was no less harrowing but we were ripped and didn't care.

Seemed to be the theme that night. Buddy Tom's b-day. Just before we went in for the 2nd set, he turned to me and said, "Keep on Growing". Spooky that they played it of course on his birthday. Stormy weather and I agree, the best lightning and storminess in a space I heard ever heard at the time. Thanks for the work, guys.

This is the best recording out of the new batch of 87-86 audience recordings that just came in 9/15/05. The Instrument separation is pretty good, It has a solid consistent bottom end and the music is right up front. Thanks a whole lotfor uploading this show in particular. Wow! One of the best Aud's i've heard so far. 4 stars for performance. I'll give it a 4 l/2 for quality.
